Surat: Cybercrime police arrested a 23-year-old man on Tuesday for his alleged involvement in cheating two luxury hotels of Rs 3.68 lakh. The accused used credit card details of a few people fraudulently besides also using fake Aadhaar card copies to book a room in the hotels. Investigation revealed that the accused who does labour jobs enjoyed a luxurious life by adopting fraud techniques.
Cops arrested Yogesh Bansal, a resident of Vesu, based on complaints of cheating filed by officials of Marriot and Orange Mega Structures Ltd. “The accused booked a room and provided credit card details at the time of checking in. A customer is not required to enter a PIN and the bill amount is deducted directly from the credit card. But, in this case the payments were blocked by the bank,” said the police.
“It is not yet clear how he secured credit card details and how he made the fake Aadhaar card with fake name address,” said cops. tnn
