Jitin, Shweta emerge fastest athletes, win shortest race

Kanpur: Jitin Chaudhary of Etah and Shweta of Baghpat emerged as the fastest men and women athletes when they won the shortest race of the 57th UP state under-20 annual junior athletics championship which concluded at Sai Athletic stadium in Lucknow on Monday.
There was a tough contest in men 100 mtrs race between Jitin Chaudhary and Ravi Kushwaha of Varanasi. Jitin won the race by a margin of 0.02 seconds. He clocked 11-08 sec time and Ravi clocked 11.10 sec. Pushpendra Rawat stood at the third place with a time of 11.24 sec. Jitin established his superiority in last five metres when he made final burst.
Shweta in women event clocked 12.65 sec. time to cover the 100 mtr distance. She defeated Deepali by 0.17 sec. to grab first place. Deepali of Ghaziabad clocked 12.82 sec. She in fact gave a challenge up to 70 mtr thereafter Shweta took a clear lead and crossed finish line first. Ghaziabad's Vanshika Chaudhary stood at third place with 13.60 sec time.
Sunil Rajbhar of Azamgarh and Vineegta Gurjar won two events each.
