Rajasthan CM approves financial proposal for Diggi Yojana to strengthen micro irrigation system

Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has approved a proposal of about Rs 463 crore for the works of Diggi, farm pond and irrigation pipeline to strengthen the micro irrigation system in the state. This approval has been given under the Rajasthan Micro Irrigation Scheme. The target of benefiting 30 thousand farmers has been increased to 50 thousand for the construction of farm ponds in the next two years. A total of 261.75 crore rupees will be spent on this. Under this scheme, non-small-marginal farmers belonging to Scheduled Caste-Tribes will also get a 10 per cent additional subsidy like small-marginal farmers. In order to encourage and provide support to the farmers, the grant limit for the construction of plastic lining farm ponds has also been increased from 90 thousand rupees to 1.20 lakh rupees.
