The Nation's Weather for Wednesday, April 12, 2023
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
Dry and calm conditions are set to remain in place for much
of the country tomorrow, particularly across the East Coast,
Midwest and Southwest states. Continued warming is likely in
the Midwest and Northeast, however. This will bring pleasant
weather for many, but also lead to rapid snowmelt and
substantial river flooding in the northern Plains, with the
Red River being most impacted. A storm system will take
shape in the Gulf of Mexico, bringing thunderstorms and
locally heavy rain onshore from Louisiana to the western
Florida Panhandle. Most of this will not be especially
impactful, though localized flooding is possible where
recent heavy rain has fallen. Unsettled weather will
continue in the Northwest, with occasional rain for the
Oregon and Washington coasts.
