The Secretary, who presided over the meeting, stated that the PDA jurisdiction is a key and all-season destination in J&K, attracting lakhs of tourists each year. He praised the PDA’s efforts to promote and expand tourism within its jurisdiction.

In this regard, he praised activities such as a sustained innovative tourism campaign, significant national and international outreach programmes and creation of tourism infrastructure and avenues.

However, much work has to be done to not only maintain that position, but also to improve it and fulfil the ambition of making it a world-class destination via the concerted efforts of all stakeholders and responsible departments, he stated.

The stakeholders expressed their worries, ideas, and long-pending issues about water availability, power, road connection, road widening, garden upkeep, and hotel registration with the Industries and Commerce Department, among other things.

Dr. Shah assured them that necessary action would be taken to address their concerns.

Parkash Chand, Chairman BDC Chenani, Thakur Sher Singh, CEO PDA, Kushal Magotra, President Patnitop Hotels, Restaurants, and Bar Association, and others were also in attendance during the interactive session.
