PUNE: A wine shop employee, who was waiting outside his employer's house at Kalyaninagar to hand over the day's cash collection, was robbed of a bag containing cash of Rs1.5 lakh on Saturday. He was robbed by three bike-borne men.
"The Samrat housing society, the incident spot, has CCTV cameras but the same has no recording facilities. Footage analysis from the Ahura wine shop at Parnakuti Chowk to shop owner Falak Faruk Irani's house reveals that the trio did not follow the employee, Dilip Rajore" said assistant commissioner of police Kishore Jadhav.
Inspector Jaideep Gaikwad from Yerawada police said, "The robbers fled towards Pune-Ahmednagar road but there was no trail after that."
Rajore told TOI, "My employer waits for me every day outside his row house gate to collect cash, but on Saturday night, he was in the house as he was unwell." Rajore, who works as a cashier, said he called his employer and was waiting outside when three men on a bike went past him but returned . The pillion rider got down and snatched the bag, after which they fled the scene.
