What's new for the 2024 Acura MDX?
We expect the 2024 MDX to carry over unchanged. It was redesigned for 2022 and saw few changes last year, though Acura added a complimentary scheduled maintenance plan of two years or 24,000 miles, and three years of AcuraLink, which lets owners remotely start the vehicle and check maintenance status via app.
The 2024 Acura MDX plays the luxury part, combining flowing body lines with muscular ends, more elegant than the related but more utilitarian Honda Pilot. The cabin wears leather upholstery dressed up with metallic trim and cross-stitching, but the gloss black plastic of the center console puts a damper on the overall effect.
The MDX comes with a 3.5-liter V-6 engine rated for 290 hp and 267 lb-ft of torque. A 10-speed auto transmission sends power to the front wheels or all four wheels with optional all-wheel drive. Most versions feature AWD, including the enjoyable Type S, which boasts a 3.0-liter turbo V-6 with 355 hp and an adaptive air suspension system that upgrades the MDX’s comfy ride and athletic handling. However, without electrified options, both V-6s lag in fuel economy ratings, topping out at 22 mpg combined.
