GURGAON: Three men have been booked for allegedly thrashing a security guard, who was returning home after work from DLF Cyber City, in Nathupur village on Friday night.
Police said they started an investigation into the matter after a complaint was filed by Pradeep Kumar, originally a resident of Bhiwani.
“After work, I was returning back to my rented home around 10.50pm on Saturday. There is a sweet shop on the way. I was thirsty and stopped there for some water. I drank some water and shook droplets of water off my hands. The drops landed on a person standing next to me,” Kumar told police.
He said the person, identified as Golu, became furious at this. Golu’s brother
Jeetu was also standing nearby.
“All of a sudden, Golu and Jeetu started thrashing me in front of the shop. Golu left for a while and returned with his father Ramesh. The trio thrashed me badly with sticks and left the spot. Before leaving, they also threatened me of dire consequences if I reported the matter to cops. I received injuries on my shoulder, back and legs. I called up my brother Sandeep, who took me to a government hospital for treatment,” Pradeep said.
Police said the hospital informed them about the incident, after which a team was sent to the spot.
“We are investigating the matter. After the security guard submitted a written complaint to police, we filed an FIR against the trio. We are now checking CCTV footage of the incident. The accused will be arrested soon,” police spokesperson Subhash Boken said.
The FIR was registered under sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 34 (common intention) and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at DLF 3 police station on Saturday.
