Factories not functional? They’ll lose allotted land
Noida: The Noida and Greater Noida Authorities will start taking back land from industrial, information technology and information technology-enabled services that are not functional and allot them to new investors through e-auctioning.
The action follows a government notification issued last year, which stated lease agreement of IT, ITES and industrial units that were not operational by December 31, 2022, would be cancelled immediately as per terms and conditions.
So far, Noida Authority has issued notices to 500 such units and initiated the process of cancelling the lease against 40 units following a survey, a senior Noida Authority official.
In Greater Noida, notices were issued to nearly 600 industrial, IT and ITES units and a cancellation process was initiated against 44. Of 44, about 30 are IT or ITES units and 14 are industrial units.
Officials told TOI the repossessed plots would be added back to the land banks of the respective authorities and then e-auctioned in the coming months.
“After cancellation, instructions have been given to include these plots in new schemes and make them available to the investors who signed MoUs during the UP Global Investors Summit to include them in the upcoming groundbreaking ceremony, scheduled for August,” said an official.
Instructions have been issued to immediately cancel the allotment of the top 20 defaulter industrial plots allottees, who have not paid the dues of the Greater Noida Authority. Similarly, the allotments of the top 10 defaulters of the IT plots would be cancelled.
During the review of the IT and Industries Department recently, GNIDA CEO Ritu Maheshwari instructed that there was no need to give defaulters any further chance. The finance department was instructed to calculate the payment made by these allottees before initiating the action.
