Upset with Jolle’s ‘apathy’, villagers stage protest

Belagavi: Muzrai minister Shashikala Jolle found herself in a tough spot recently in Nipani constituency, which she represents in the assembly, after the villagers of Galataga gheraoed her and raised slogans on Monday.
The villagers staged a protest when Minister Jolle visited the dalits’ colony in Galataga. Some angry residents alleged that the minister rarely visited the village, and did not bother to develop it despite their repeated requests. “We do not want a political leader who comes to meet us only during election season,” they told her.
