49 IAS officers transferred in Hry reshuffle
Gurgaon: GMDA CEO and senior officials of development authorities in the city and neighbouring districts were among the 52 administrative officers, including 49 IAS officers, transferred in Haryana government’s latest bureaucratic reshuffle ordered on Monday.
MCG commissioner PC Meena will now take additional charge as the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority CEO, replacing 1990-batch IAS officer Sudhir Rajpal.
Among the key changes in the transfers is that GMDA’s leadership has been brought at par with MCG.
This is the first time an officer below additional chief secretary-rank will be the GMDA CEO. Earlier this year, Meena was also named the officer on special duty (OSD) at GMDA.
GMDA, which was created with the idea that a senior officer from Haryana would be appointed as its head to facilitate projects quickly, would normally be headed by an ACS who would be the officer with the senior most rank in Gurgaon. Sources told TOI that the decision to bring both the agencies at level was made a few months back as the responsibilities of GMDA and MCG overlapped and it was felt that the same official should be in charge of both.
Yashpal Yadav, who was earlier posted as administrator of HSVP (Gurgaon) and deputy commissioner of Gurgaon, has been appointed as commissioner of the Municipal Corporation of Manesar (MCM) and additional CEO of GMDA. Anju Chaudhary, additional CEO of GMDA, will now become commissioner of the Ambala municipal corporation.
Additional deputy commissioner of Gurgaon, Vishram Kumar Meena, has also been transferred to Sonipat. He will take charge as the commissioner of Municipal Corporation of Sonipat and additional CEO of Sonipat Metropolitan Development Authority. A Sreenivas will be the new CEO of Faridabad Metropolitan Development Authority (FMDA). Till now, the GMDA CEO normally held the additional charge of FMDA CEO.
