PANAJI: Goa Medical College (GMC) dean Dr S M Bandekar said on Tuesday that prophylaxis will be implemented as standardised care for hemophilia patients.
GMC currently has a dozen hemophilia patients on its rolls, and they need regular treatment as hemophilia is a lifelong condition that can’t be cured.
Bandekar also inaugurated a Hemophilia Day programme at the hospital along with the Hemophilia Society, Panaji. The event also featured informative sessions on Hemophilia care and prophylaxis by Dr Ramnath Nevrekar, head of the hemophilia treatment section.
