AC mechanic arrested for alleged rape of minor girl in Jagraon of Ludhiana
LUDHIANA: Jagraon police in Ludhiana on Sunday night arrested an air conditioner mechanic for raping a minor girl. The accused was identified as 21-year-old Jaskran Singh of Jagraon area.
The complainant, aged around 15 years told cops that she is resident of Jagraon and they are two siblings. She added that she has given ninth standard papers and now remains at home.
The girl said that she knows the accused for around four to five months and they would often talk on the phone.
The complainant told cops that the accused would take her to his house when no one was at his place and used to have forceful sexual relations with her for the last 4-5 months. She added that the accused took her to his house 5-6 times and had forced sexual relations with her.
The complainant said that on April 2 around 12pm, the accused called her and asked to meet her in the market. Then he asked her to sit on the motorcycle. She got scared and sat on his bike but later jumped from it due to fear while he was on way to his home.
The girl said that she got injury on her left arm while jumping from the bike. She was afraid till Sunday April 9, so she did not tell anyone because the accused always threatened her that he get her brother killed.
The complainant told her mother about the whole thing on Monday after which they got the complaint lodged.
On being informed, cops from city Jagraon police station reached the complainant and started probe into the matter.
Police later booked the accused under sections 376 (rape), 506 (criminal intimidation) of IPC and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.
SHO City Jagraon police station, Inspector Hira Singh said that the accused was arrested from Jagraon area.
