Youth thrashed with belts in Farrukhabad
Kanpur: A Muslim youth was allegedly thrashed with belts just because he stopped a group of men from abusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The incident took place in Hathiapur village of Maudarwaja police station area of Farrukhabad district on Friday. The youth has been identified as Akram. He alleged that the rowdy elements had also threatened him and his family members to leave the village.
Police however are calling the incident suspicious and saying that the boy was beaten up by his relatives because he texted the girl of their family some kind of indecent messages from his mobile phone.
The injured youth was admitted to the Ram Manohar Lohia hospital by his family members where he is undergoing treatment.
Akram said that some youths of his village were abusing PM Modi. When he asked them not to abuse the PM and called the PM a good person, they then got angry, and abused and assaulted him brutally with belts.
Inspector Mau Darwaza police station Amod Kumar Singh said, “The youth had given such a byte at the behest of a local TV journalist for the latter's channel and has confessed this in writing. The boy was thrashed by his relatives because he used to send messages to the girl of their family for a relationship. The journalist told the youth that if you give such a statement, the police will take strict action against your rivals. We are now in the process of lodging an FIR against the local journalist.”
