Special prayers, processions mark Easter celebrations

Coimbatore: Christians in the district on Sunday celebrated Easter with fervour and devotion, visiting churches and offering prayers.
Special services and candlelight prayers were held in all the churches, which were decked up to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus, in the district. A large number of devotees thronged the prominent churches like St Michaels Church on Big Bazaar Street, CSI Church on Trichy Road, St Immanuel Church at Upplipalayam, Fathima Church at Gandhipuram, St Antony Church at Puliyakulam and Syrian Church on Brooke Bond Road for the midnight masses. The prayers continued on Sunday morning as well, along with processions, marking Easter celebrations.
