Jharkhand woman found murdered, hubby booked
Varanasi: Panic prevailed after the body of a brutally murdered woman was found lying at a lonely place in Mahdeypur village under the limits of Badagaon police station on Sunday morning.
Deputy commissioner of police Gomati zone Vikrant Vir said that with the help of labourers at neighbouring brick kilns the body was identified as of Gita (40) of Latehar district in Jharkhand. On the complaint of her brother, the police have lodged an FIR against her husband, said Badagaon police adding, her husband is absconding. Gita’s brother informed the police that Gita and her husband used to quarrel frequently. The DCP said that teams have been engaged to nab the accused after sending the body for postmortem.
Some locals noticed a partially nude body of a woman lying in a pool of blood about 100 meters away from the populated area and alerted the village head Bhagwan Pal. Later, Pal reported the matter to the police. After reaching the spot, Badagaon police called the dog squad while the DCP and other senior officials also reached the spot. As the face and head of woman had been hacked brutally, locals could not identify her.
With the help of sniffer dog the police reached up to a brick kiln in Mahdepur outskirts and sought the help of brick kiln owners and labourers to identify the deceased. Later, a labourer at one of brick kilns ascertained the identity of the woman and told the police that he and his relatives had come to work as labourer at a brick kiln from Latehar and Gita and her husband were in the same group of labourers.
