In the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) Budget 2023-24 presented on April 6, 2023, a total Budget of Rs 10,186.73 crore was presented of which Rs 5800.15 crore has been allotted towards affordable housing. The Budget proposed construction of 12,724 flats in Maharashtra including Aurangabad, Amravati, Mumbai, Pune, Nashik and Konkan regions.

Budget FY24: Redevelopment projects
As part of the FY24 Budget, Rs 2,285 crore has been allotted for redevelopment of BDD chawls. Other redevelopment projects that will be worked on include projects in Antop Hill, Bombay Dyeing Mill -Wadala scheme, Dharavi Redevelopment Project Phase 1B, Dindoshi, Magathane (Borivali East), Pahari (Goregaon East),ย Patra chawl ( Siddharth Nagar, Goregaon), Kannamwar Nagar (Vikhroli). Also, for the development of the Police Housing project colony, a Budget of Rs 100 crore has been allotted.
