Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Sunday said he will be contesting from the Shiggaon constituency after the BJP Central Election Committee (CEC) held an over three-hour meeting to discuss candidates for the upcoming Karnataka assembly election.

BJP candidate K.Srinivasa Gowda won this seat in the 2018 Karnataka Assembly Elections by securing 46.22% of the total votes polled. He defeated Congress’ Syed Zameer Pasha by over 44,000 votes.

Belgaum Uttar is a State Assembly/Vidhan Sabha constituency in the Belgaum district and Mumbai Karnataka region of Karnataka and is a part of the Belgaum Parliamentary/Lok Sabha constituency.

BJP candidate Anil S Benake won this seat in the 2018 Karnataka Assembly Elections by securing 53.63% of the total votes polled. He defeated Congress’ Fairoz Nuruddin Saithzq by over 17,000 votes.

Krishnarajpet is a State Assembly/Vidhan Sabha constituency in the Mandya district of Karnataka and is a part of the Krishnarajpet Parliamentary/Lok Sabha constituency.

JD(S) candidate Narayanagowda won this seat in the 2018 Karnataka Assembly Elections by securing 51% of the total votes polled. He defeated Congress’ K B Chandrashekar by over 17,000 votes.

Shivamogga (Shimoga) is a State Assembly/Vidhan Sabha constituency in the Shimoga district and Central Karnataka region of Karnataka and is a part of the Shimoga Parliamentary/Lok Sabha constituency.

BJP candidate K.S. Eshwarappa won this seat in the 2018 Karnataka Assembly Elections by securing 60.36% of the total votes polled. He defeated Congress’ K.B. Prasanna Kumar by over 46,000 votes.

Gulbarga Dakshin is a State Assembly/Vidhan Sabha constituency in the Gulbarga district and Hyderabad Karnataka region of Karnataka and is a part of the Gulbarga Parliamentary/Lok Sabha constituency.

BJP candidate Dattatraya C Patil Revoor Appu Gouda won this seat in the 2018 Karnataka Assembly Elections by securing 44.88% of the total votes polled. He defeated Congress’ Allamprabhu Patil by over 5,000 votes.

Congress may send former PPCC chief Navjot Singh Sidhu to Karnataka for Campaigning for the upcoming Assembly polls.

Cricketer-turned-politician, who was recently released from Patiala jail, is expected to address rallies across Karnataka.

“He (Sidhu) will be touring Karnataka and canvassing for support for the party,” Times Of India quoted the AICC manager as saying.

To show his support state’s farmers by opposing Amul products, KPCC President DK Shivakumar visited the Nandini milk parlour in Hassan District and purchased Nandini products from there. He was also seen drinking Nandini butter milk.

Congress candidate M Krishnappa won this seat in the 2018 Karnataka Assembly Elections by securing 49.90 % of the total votes polled. He defeated BJP’s H Ravindra by over 3,000 votes.
