Gumla: The National Investigation Agency conducted raids in connection with a terror-funding case at four houses — two each at Vishramgarh and Kuru block headquarters of businessman Raju Sahu in Lohardaga on Sunday.
Sources also said raids were conducted by the NIA at Kukaiya More in Chandwa police station and Lohardaga town . A 20-member team of the NIA acted following information that Sahu has invested the money collected by CPI (Maoist) regional commander Ravindra Gaunjhu in the form of levy in his brick kiln business and purchased land in Kuru and Ranchi. It is alleged that Sahu has collusion with top Maoist leader Ravindra Gaunjhu who has been very active in the district since a long time.
During one of Jharkhand’s biggest anti-Naxal operations named “Double Bull” in terror-hit Peshrar and adjoining police stations of Lohardaga in February 2022, it came to fore that Sahu has collusion with Maoist leader, a resident of Hesalbanitoli in Chandwa police station of Latehar district.
A police officer on the condition of annonimity said, “ Sahu made a house for Gaunhju in his village also.” The NIA team has seized a 9 mm countrymade pistol, some cartridges, land deed papers and other important documents, including banks papers during the raids at Sahu’s brick kiln at Opa village and 6 mobile sets from one of his houses at Vishramgah under Kuru police station, police sources in police said.
Sahu managed to escape.
