JAIPUR: Covid-19 cases have been increasing at a steady pace in the state, with active cases up from 209 on April 1 to 694 on Sunday evening (April 9). During this time, six Covid patients have died in the state. In the past 24 hours, the state reported 165 new Covid-19 cases, while one person died of the virus. The death was reported from Dausa.
Jaipur reported 54 cases, the highest among the state’s districts, followed by Bikaner (21), Rajsamand (15), Nagaur (14), Jodhpur (13), Jhalawar (9),
Udaipur (9) and Chittorgarh (7), while 23 other cases were reported from other districts in the last 24 hours.
In Jaipur, there are 183 infected people recovering from Covid-19, while the number of active cases in Jodhpur is 71. In Udaipur, this number is 60, and in Bikaner 57, as of Sunday evening.
A health department official said that the majority of the patients are recovering in home isolation and do not require hospitalization. However, the official said, people should take precautions and follow Covid-appropriate behaviour. The health department is increasing the daily sampling for Covid-19, the official said. On Sunday, 3,999 samples were collected and , on Saturday 1,781 samples.
