Japan Consumer Confidence at highest level since May 2022

 Japan consumer confidence index reaches 33.9 in March from 31.1 in the previous month and above market forecasts of 31.9.

This was the highest reading since May 2022.

The economy recovered further from pandemic disruptions, with households' sentiment strengthening for all indices: income growth (up 1.3 points from February to 37.4), employment (up 3.0 points to 41.3), overall livelihood (up 2.6 points to 30.3), and willingness to buy durable goods (up 3.2 points to 26.4).
