KTR's comments on Vizag steel plant meaningless, says Andhra Pradesh minister
SRIKAKULAM: Andhra Pradesh industries and IT minister Gudivada Amarnath said that Telangana IT minister KTR's comments on Vizag steel plant were meaningless and the YSRCP government had been opposing the steel plant privatization move by the central government.
While addressing the media in Vizag on Monday, the minister alleged that Telangana IT minister KTR had expressed opposition to the privatization of the plant and had also stated their intent to acquire it.
"His comments are provoking the central government to sell the plant. BRS leaders’ comments on the steel plant are meaningless," he said.
Minister Amar said the YSRCP government had already written three letters to the central government regarding this aspect and expressed its dissatisfaction over the privatization move.
CM Jagan has been opposing and requesting the central government not to privatise the plant.
The central government should focus on the debts of the steel plant and take the necessary steps to overcome the situation. But privatisation is not the solution to bail out the steel plant, he said.
