Bizman’s worker faked snatching to pocket ₹2 lakh
Ludhiana: Ludhiana rural police have booked an employee of a cloth merchant for allegedly cooking up a fake snatching story to pocket over Rs 2 lakh collected from shopkeepers.
In his complaint, merchant Raghav Goyal said he had hired Lavish Jindal of Shimlapuri three months back for collecting payments for clothes from different cities. He said Lavish had collected Rs 2.14 lakh from shopkeepers in Ludhiana, Mullanpur, Sudhar, Raikot, Bassian, Jagraon and Moga. Lavish had claimed that on his way back home, bike-borne miscreants had snatched cash from him near Mandiyani village.
Raghav said when they enquired into the matter, they found that no such incident of loot had taken place with Lavish. Thereafter, he lodged a complaint with police.
Police later booked the accused under Section 406 (criminal breach of trust) of the IPC. Investigating officer Jaswinder Grewal said as per the orders of the high court, three notices are to be given to the accused and if he doesn’t come to police after that, then he will be arrested. tnn
