Daltonganj: At a time when Covid-19 cases are once again on the rise, no RTPCR test has been done at the lone test centre at Medinirai Medical College Hospital for more than last three months.
Palamu civil surgeon
Ashok Kumar said RTPCR tests are not being done for want of kits. “Only rapid antigen test (RAT) is being done,” he said.
The civil surgeon said he is pursuing the matter with higher officials. The number of test is around a dozen a day. Even this figure is being maintained because of the mandatory Covid testing required for keeping someone in judicial custody.
A hospital employee said, "The so-called mock drill for testing and treatment to Covid is a mockery. The civil surgeon and his team just look at the oxygen plant or the ventilator and believe all are in place. Has any mock drill in hospitals across the state ever found anything amiss?”
