18-yr-old beaten to death on city outskirts, 3 held

Ranchi: Three persons were arrested in connection with the death of 18-year-old Wajid Ansari (18), who was allegedly beaten up after tying him to a tree at Mahuatoli village under Chanho police station. Ansari succumbed to his injuries during treatment at the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (Rims) on Friday. Police, however, denied that it was a case of mob lynching.
Police also said Ansari was allegedly trying to steal valuables from a grocery shop early on Friday morning when the owner, Jivan Oroan, woke up and raised an alarm.
