Thiruvananthapuram: The state capital is gearing up for the 'Karuthalum Kaithangum' taluk-level adalat organised as part of the second anniversary of the ministry.
As part of this, the state government will intensify the campaign led by public representatives to receive complaints from the public at the taluk level adalats.
The decision was taken in the review meeting involving people’s representatives led by ministers V Sivankutty, GR Anil and Antony Raju on Saturday. The public will have an opportunity till April 15 to submit complaints to the adalat held in the district from May 2 to 11.
The public can file complaints on 28 issues in various departments in the adalat through panchayat, village, municipality and taluk offices and online through Akshaya center and the portal www.karuthal.kerala.gov.in. Ministers and high-ranking officials will be directly involved in resolving complaints on a taluk basis.
The grievances received every day in various offices are collected in the taluk monitoring cell by that evening and forwarded to the district level monitoring cell. Nodal officers have also been appointed in all departments to coordinate these matters.
A total of 1,447 complaints have been received so far, out of which 525 address land issues, 229 are related to welfare schemes, 122 are related to building construction and 116 are related to ration cards.
Sivankutty also shared suggestions for strengthening the campaign through Kudumbashree units, mic announcements at panchayat, block and corporation levels and by setting up campaign boards of adalats in all wards.
