Kanpur: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) has taken into custody three minors in connection with the incident of stone pelting on Kushinagar express on the outskirts of Kanpur Central, late Thursday night. A windowpane of one of the train coaches was broken and some passengers were injured in the stone pelting. A video of the damaged windowpane went viral on social media.
RPF inspector Suruchi Sharma said, “The incident had left some passengers injured. RPF and GRP (Government Railway Police) constituted separate teams to zero in on the troublemakers and three juveniles were detained for questioning and they confessed to pelting stones at the train. A case has been registered against them. All three minor offenders will be produced before the Juvenile Justice Board.”
RPF Inspector said information was received from the Divisional Security Room regarding the incident that had occurred while 22538 -Kushinagar Express was stationed near the signal at Jhakarkati Outer at 12 midnight on Thursday.
