Police still searching for killer a year after fatal shooting of man, 23, outside bar

Exactly one year ago, 23-year-old London Harris was shot and killed during an altercation outside a Westwood bar.

Investigators are still searching for his killer and no new leads that could result in an arrest have been uncovered, the Cheviot Police Department said.

"London's family says that London came from a good family, and they are still grieving the loss of this young man's life," police said in a news release, renewing a call for the public's help in bringing forth information that can solve the case.

Police have said the shooting happened around 1:15 a.m. on April 9, 2022, following a fight that broke out inside Babe's Cafe on Glenmore Avenue.

The fighting spilled outside the bar to Applegate Avenue, police said, adding Harris suffered fatal injuries in the shooting and a friend of Harris' sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the abdomen.

Police said the bar outside of which the shooting took place has permanently closed and the building is up for sale.
