Varanasi: Luggage of the attendants of Bihar minister and Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tej Pratap Yadav, was allegedly removed from their rooms while Yadav’s room was allegedly even opened and checked by the staff of a city hotel in Sigra area on Friday evening when Yadav had gone to offer prayers at a temple.
On the complaint of Tej Pratap’s personal secretary Mishal Sinha, Sigra police started investigating the matter. Additional commissioner of police Santosh Kumar Singh said as per the initial investigation, Yadav and his attendants were staying in two rooms of a hotel that has opened recently. It came to light that one room was occupied even after check-out time while customers, who had booked the room, had arrived, after which the room in which Tej Pratap’s attendants were staying, was vacated by the hotel management in the presence of one of them and luggage was kept at the reception, said police.
Sinha said, “When Tej Pratap returned to the hotel on Friday evening, it was found that the luggage was kept at the reception. We asked the hotel staff to show us CCTV footage and it came to light that not only had the luggage of one room been removed, Tejashwi’s room had also been opened and apart from the staff, the hotel’s owner too went inside the Bihar minister’s room in his absence. It is a case of security breach, hence, I lodged a complaint with Sigra police and demanded an FIR in this connection.”
Tej Pratap did not address the media.
