Salkar asks them to avail of various schemes on offer

Vasco: Vasco MLA Krishna Salkar alias Daji organised a healthy meal programme for the farmers of Mestawaddo on Sunday. The farmers were served nutritious food during an interaction which was carried out to try and understand the difficulties faced by them.

Salkar said that, “As we are celebrating social justice week, many programmes are organised daily like cleanliness drives, health camps etc. Hence, today we decided to come up with a unique programme of an interactive session with farmers in Vasco along with a meal. We served them nutritious food and our entire team of Bhartiya Janta Party also ate with them, while discussing and understanding the difficulties of the farmers.”

“This nutritious food, which our forefathers consumed, is now being sidelined by us. However, it has been recognised internationally for its health benefits. We tried to boost that idea,” Salkar added. Salkar explained to the farmers consisting of men and women, young and old, regarding the various schemes available for their benefits by the BJP government, and asked them to enroll themselves for the same.

Jayant Jadhav, a BJP leader said that, “This is the only place in Vasco which is cultivated, and we want it to last. We are providing all the help to these farmers, and are in continuous talks with them to boost their profession. Today’s programme was more to strengthen the bonding between us.”
