After ‘well of superstition’, nation heading towards slavery: Sanjay Raut in Saamana

"Dumping science and modernity and walking the path of black magic is the way to slavery. The British could rule the nation because of the superstition and religious fanaticism that was widespread among the people... The British kept people busy fighting among themselves and looted the nation... What different is happening today?" Raut asked.

Writing in his weekly column, Rokthok, published in Sena mouthpiece Saamana, Raut asked, “Why did Hindustan become a slave? So far, several discussions have taken place on this issue but the answer to it lies in today's BJP regime”.Writing in his weekly column, Rokthok, published in Sena mouthpiece Saamana, Raut asked, “Why did Hindustan become a slave? Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut Sunday claimed that the “Modi Party”, which was pushing the nation towards “a well of superstition”, is now taking it towards slavery.

Writing in his weekly column, Rokthok, published in Sena mouthpiece Saamana, Raut asked, “Why did Hindustan become a slave? So far, several discussions have taken place on this issue but the answer to it lies in today’s BJP regime”.

“Dumping science and modernity and walking the path of black magic is the way to slavery. The British could rule the nation because of the superstition and religious fanaticism that was widespread among the people… The British kept people busy fighting among themselves and looted the nation… What different is happening today?” Raut asked. “The BJP has launched the ‘Savarkar Gaurav Yatra’. Savarkar was known for his scientific bent of mind. However, the “Modi Party” has dumped that scientific approach and is taking the country on the path of superstition. This will lead to the nation’s slavery,” he added.

Calling V D Savarkar a unique revolutionary and a Hindutvawadi, the senior leader said, “Savarkar was against black magic in the name of Hindutva. He believed in scientific ways. He favoured the power of weapons… Those who are bending before China are now taking out ‘Savarkar Gaurav Yatra’. Taking out ‘Savarkar Gaurav Yatra’ is nothing but indulging in black magic.”

Raut said a BJP MLA from Assam is now demanding that the Taj Mahal and Qutub Minar should be demolished and a temple be built there. “The MLA is offering his one year’s salary for building the temple… Now, they will start a campaign for demolishing the Taj Mahal and Qutub Minar and create an uneasy atmosphere in the country. Brainless people will participate in the campaign and then communal clashes will be ignited,” Raut said.

“Those who call for demolishing the Taj Mahal and Qutub Minar are keeping silent on the situation in Arunachal Pradesh. China has entered Arunachal Pradesh and staked claim on 11 big villages. It has even renamed them in the Chinese language. The BJP should enter these 11 villages and build a temple there,” he said.

Raut added, “The face of Parliament has changed. Modernity and science have been thrown out and those steeped in superstition beliefs are seen dressed in saffron clothing. Some ‘maharajas’ among them sit without wearing clothes. This is strange…it lowers the status of Parliament. It is a defeat of Nehru’s scientific bent of mind and the modern thoughts of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar and Veer Savarkar… If Opposition leaders demand a probe against Adani, the ruling party members shout ‘Jai Shri Ram’ as if the Lord has decided to drown the country in corruption. This is the defeat of religion, the defeat of truth and a big defeat of our freedom….”
