Belagavi: The announcement of Babasaheb Patil’s name as the Congress candidate for Kittur segment in Belagavi district in the second list, has left the family and the supporters of a major ticket aspirant — former minister D B Inamdar — upset. While the supporters of Inamdar have staged protests in Neginahal, his hometown, his family has threatened to quit the party enmasse. Addressing media on Friday, his daughter-in-law Laxmi Vikram Inamdar said the former minister is under treatment at a hospital. “We are speaking on his behalf as he is unwell. In such a situation, Congress has taken an inhuman decision, which has hurt his family. We will soon decide on whether to continue in politics,” she said, adding: “Inamdar, who has served the party for more than half-a-century, had been a six-time MLA from the constituency.”
