PUNE: The Kothrud police have initiated a probe against a sub-inspector posted at the Shivajinagar court security office for allegedly issuing threats of dire consequences to a 43-year-old man, his mother and sons on February 19 after barging into their Kothrud residence.
Police registered the offence of house trespass, intentional insult and criminal intimidation against the sub-inspector on Friday. Additional commissioner of police (Administration) Jalindar Supekar on Saturday issued orders suspending the sub-inspector from the services till further orders.
Senior inspector Hemant Patil of the Kothrud police said, “The complainant, a resident of Shashtrinagar in Kothrud, works with a corporate office in Pune. According to the complainant, his wife and the sub-inspector were involved in an affair.”
“Around 10am on February 19, the sub-inspector entered the complainant’s house. He was armed with a service pistol. He kept his hand on the pistol and issued threats to the complainant,” he said.
