Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow (9) leads the offense on the field in the first quarter of the AFC championship NFL game between the Cincinnati Bengals and the Kansas City Chiefs, Sunday, Jan. 29, 2023, at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Mo. The Chiefs led 13-6 at halftime.

In a video posted to The QB Room's YouTube channel earlier this week, former Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer had high praise for current Cincinnati quarterback Joe Burrow.

The interview, which was with Carson's brother, and former Bengals backup quarterback Jordan Palmer, took place as part of Jordan's 'The Room' podcast and was recorded in February.

Carson played for the Bengals from 2003-10 where he made a pair of Pro Bowls in addition to two playoff appearances. Jordan backed up his brother from 2008-10.

"I think he's the best quarterback in the league," Carson told his brother.

Jordan had a question for his older brother: "You understand how difficult it is to win in Cincinnati I would probably say more than any person ever. What's the most impressive thing to you?"

"I just think when you watch him play, nothing is too big. Nothing is overwhelming," Carson said. "...On the biggest stages, he throws absolute seed. The ball is on the money, time and time again."

Carson Palmer on Joe Burrow comparisons to Tom Brady

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady (12) throws in the first quarter during a Week 15 NFL game Cincinnati Bengals, Sunday, Dec. 18, 2022, at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Fla.

"(Burrow's) not an overly impressive person walking into the room physically," Carson said. "I mean you watch Justin Herbert, Justin Herbert's a specimen... I mean if (Burrow) walked down the street you wouldn't go, 'that's an NFL football player.' He's 6-3, 210 on a good day.

"You know who else looks like that and has that same exact build is Tom Brady. But Tom doesn't have the wheels and isn't as confident with the ball in his hand running as Joe is. Joe doesn't want to take off and run, he wants to work through his progressions and sometimes he just doesn't have the option to do that because of the pressure and he finds a way to move up in the pocket."

Joe Burrow vs. Patrick Mahomes: Carson Palmer weighs in

"Talk about not having a weakness," Carson explained. "Mentally strong, physically tough, accurate, can throw it far enough, fast enough, gets the ball out quick. And then, he can actually do a lot with his legs, he just rarely shows it. And it's not...I think he's as athletic outside the pocket, you know and can do a lot of the same things Patrick Mahomes has done. He hasn't done it and shown it yet, he's played more within his system and style."
