Rahul Gandhi’s rally in Kolar put off to April 16
BENGALURU: Former AICC president Rahul Gandhi's public rally titled Jai Bharat, which was scheduled to take place on April 10 in Kolar, has been postponed to April 16.
State Congress president DK Shivakumar on Saturday said they had requested Rahul to postpone the meeting by a week in view of election-related works and selection of candidates.
Rahul’s event was first planned on April 5, which was deferred to April 6. It was again scheduled for April 9, which clashed with the Prime Minister’s Project Tiger event in Mysuru. The date was then fixed to April 10. Shivakumar said this will be Rahul’s first public address after his disqualification from Lok Sabha. “Disqualifying Rahul Gandhi, who had won with a margin of seven lakh votes, is an insult to democracy,” Shivakumar claimed. tnn
