Central PSU employee found dead in Keonjhar

KEONJHAR: Keonjhar police recovered the bullet-riddled body of an employee of Orissa Minerals Development Company Ltd, a central PSU, from a field near an electricity grid at Dammu under Barbil police station limits, on Saturday.
The man, Dushashan Barik (55), was a mines supervisor. He was from Dalki near Thakurani in Barbil municipality. Police have launched a manhunt to nab the killers.
Police sources said there were three bullet injuries on his head and he was shot from close range. Police seized two bullets, three beer bottles from the spot. His motorcycle was found a few metres from the spot.
Sources said Dushashan had gone to OMDC office as usual on Friday morning. He left office during lunch and did not return. When he did not return home in the evening, his family informed Barbil police station. His body was found lying in a pool of blood near the electricity grid during a search on Saturday. Police sent the body to Barbil government hospital for postmortem.
"We have registered a murder case. Our preliminary investigation reveals that property dispute might have led to the murder," said Promodini Sahu, IIC of Barbil police station.
