The No. 1 seeded Nuggets snapped a three-game losing streak on Sunday against Sacramento and finally learned something about their postseason fate.

Denver will open next Sunday at home against whoever becomes the No. 8 seed. That will be determined as a result of this week’s play-in tournament.

The No. 7 seeded Lakers will face the No. 8 seeded Timberwolves on Tuesday, while the No. 9 seeded Pelicans will face the No. 10 seeded Thunder on Wednesday. The winner of the latter will travel to the loser of the former to determine the No. 8 seed and Denver’s first-round opponent.

Nuggets coach Michael Malone and his staff won’t know their opponent until Friday night, one of the downsides of earning the No. 1 seed. Following Sunday’s back-to-back, the Nuggets will be off on Monday and resume practice on Tuesday.
