Cincinnati Reds minor league team scores 7 runs, wins despite being no-hit

It’s not how the Chattanooga Lookouts drew it up, but their 7-5 win over the Rocket City Trash Pandas in Game 1 of their doubleheader Saturday was one of the strangest wins in minor league baseball history.
The Lookouts, the Double-A affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds, scored all seven runs and won without a hit. All seven runs scored in the top of the seventh inning through five walks, four hit batsmen, one fielding error and one wild pitch.

“We don’t need (a) hit to win,” Chattanooga outfielder Allan Cerda tweeted afterward.
Chattanooga’s seven runs were the most scored by a team without a hit, according to MiLB.com. There have been six instances in Major League Baseball history where a team lost without giving up a hit – including the Reds last year against Pittsburgh – and it’s happened 10 times in the minor leagues since 2005.
The Lookouts sent 13 batters to the plate during their seven-run rally: Walk, walk, pop out, walk, strikeout, walk, fielding error, hit by pitch, hit by pitch, hit by pitch, walk, hit by pitch and strikeout.
Chattanooga had only one hit in the second game of the doubleheader, but it lost 3-0.
