A man was shot and killed Saturday night at a Lawrence apartment complex east of Interstate 465, police said.

Officers found the man around 9 p.m. suffering from a gunshot wound at the complex in the 7100 block of McIntosh Lane. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Lawrence Police Department said they have a person of interest in custody. Police said it was an isolated event and the individuals knew each other.

The investigation is ongoing, according to the police.
