AHMEDABAD: The competitive exam for the panchayat junior clerk recruitment which was cancelled a couple of hours before it was scheduled to be held on January 29 due to the paper leak from a coaching centre in Atladra in Vadodara will be conducted on April 9. The exam will begin from 11am and conclude at 12pm.
At least 9.53 lakh candidates have registered for the exam for 1,181 posts which was to be conducted from 11am on January 29 by the
Gujarat Panchayat Service Selection Board (GPSSB) at 2,995 centres across the state.
After cancelling the exams, the government had announced that the examination will be conducted within a period of 100 days. GPSSB on Wednesday instructed the exam centres that were to hold the cancelled exams to be ready for holding exams on April 9. The board has asked these centres to inform the district education officer if their premises are unavailable within the next two days.
The state transport department has deployed 6,000 additional buses for the candidates to reach their examination centres.
To avoid paper leak, the candidates will be under scanner by monitoring staff with body-worn cameras, the candidate will have to take out shoes outside their examination rooms and apart from that around 500 flying squads will randomly conduct checks at examination centres.
