Turkish CPI rises 50.51% YoY, clothing-footwear see lowest annual rise

Turkiye’s general consumer price index (2003=100) rose by 2.29 per cent in March this year over the February figure, and by 12.52 per cent over the December 2022 figure. The index rose by 50.51 per cent year on year during the month and by 70.20 per cent on the twelve-months moving averages basis.

Clothing and footwear, with 17.27 per cent, was the main group that indicated the lowest annual increase, while hotels, cafes and restaurants, with 70.73 per cent, was the main group where the highest annual increase was seen.

The CPI for clothing and footwear fell by 1.92 per cent month on month—the main group that indicated the lowest monthly increase.
