64-year-old man stabs wife, hangs self in Mulund flat

MUMBAI: A 64-year-old retired MTNL employee, who was undergoing treatment for bipolar disorder, allegedly stabbed his wife with a kitchen knife and then hanged himself in his Mulund flat on Thursday. Navghar police have filed an attempt to murder case against the deceased, Palani Yadav. His wife Kavita (54) is in the ICU at Fortis Hospital.
The couple's daughter Dhania (34) said she reached home after appearing for her law exam at 6pm, but no one opened the door. She broke open the door and found her mother with stab wounds and her father hanging from the fan. Cops are waiting for Kavita to regain consciousness to record her statement.
