MUMBAI: An eight-year-old boy who had accompanied his father to see their flat in an under-construction building in Mira Road died after allegedly falling into an open water tank in the compound. The property developers have been booked for causing death due to negligence.
Mira Road police said the body of Kaushal Mishra was found floating in the tank on April 1. Kaushal and his father Umesh and elder brother Piyush had gone to an under-construction building in Ramdev Park to have a look at a flat on the seventh floor, which the family had purchased.
As Umesh was supervising the work, Kaushal moved away. On not seeing him around, his father and brother went looking for him. They found him floating in the water tank. Kaushal was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead before admission.
Police said two of the developers have been booked. They questioned the labourers working on the construction site but they claimed they not see the boy going towards the tank.
