Akanksha Dubey suicide case: Bhojpuri singer Samar Singh lands in jail

VARANASI: The court of remand magistrate Kirti Singh on Saturday ordered to send the prime accused in Bhojpuri actress Akanksha Dubey suicide case and singer Samar Singh to 14 days judicial custody after Sarnath police produced him before the court after bringing from Ghaziabad.

Additional prosecution officers Nagendra Kumar Mishra and Vijay Pandey said that after bringing Samar from Ghaziabad following his arrest on Friday, the Sarnath police had produced him before the remand magistrate Kirti Singh. The court ordered to send him to jail in 14-days judicial custody, they said adding, police had moved application to take him on 72-hour custody remand for interrogation but the court did not give any order on it. Following these developments Samar was sent to jail.

After dodging the cops for almost a fortnight, Samar was arrested from the flat of his relative in Ghaziabad on Friday.
Akanksha was found dead in her room at Sumendra Residency hotel in Sarnath area of the city March 26 morning.

Before it at 2.25 am on intervening night of Saturday and Sunday the actress was live on Instagram sobbing. After lodging an FIR against Bhojpuri singer Samar Singh and his brother Sanjay Singh under section 306 (abetment of suicide) in this connection on March 27, her mother Madhu Dubey alleged that Akanksha worked with Samar for the past three years but he did not pay a single penny to her while the dues on him had gone above Rs three crore.
When ever Akanksha sought her payment Samar used to torture and thrash her and he also used to harass her whenever she tried to work with other artistes, she added.
