After being behind bars for almost two-and-a-half months, Sheezan Khan walked out of jail on March 5. He was arrested hours after his Ali Baba: Datsaan-e-Kabul co-actor Tunisha Sharma was found dead in a make-up room on the set of the show. Sheezan was arrested following a complaint filed by Tunisha’s mother, Vanita Sharma, for abetment to
suicide. Now, the actor’s plea for quashing of FIR is listed for April 11.
Talking about it, his lawyer Shailendra Mishra said, “Yes, the matter is listed for Tuesday. I am confident about my preparation. If the matter is heard and argued upon, the FIR shall get quashed against my client, Sheezan. I am reiterating that truth shall prevail.”
After being granted bail by the Vasai court in the Tunisha Sharma suicide case, while talking to us exclusively, Sheezan said, “Today, I understand the true meaning of freedom and I can feel it. I was in tears the moment I saw my mother and sisters. I am so happy to be back with them. I am with my family, finally! It’s an overwhelming feeling. All I want to do for a few days is lie in my mother’s lap, eat food cooked by her, and spend time with my sisters and brother.” Talking about Tunisha, he had said, “I miss her and if she was alive, she would have fought for me.”
Tunisha and Sheezan played the lead couple in Ali Baba: Dastaan-e-Kabul. The makers later roped in Abhishek Nigam and Manual Chudasama to play the lead couple in the show, which has now been titled Ali Baba – Ek Andaaz Andekha: Chapter 2.
