NOIDA: Nearly 3,000 applications were submitted for the second round of admissions under the RTE Act in private primary schools. The admission procedure will begin soon after the verification of documents. Officials said the verification process, which started on Friday will continue till April 17.
"The third round of the application process will start in the last week of April or first week of May," said Aishwarya Lakshmi, the basic shiksha adhikary.
In the first round, 5,761 students applied for admissions under RTE Act, of whom 4,698 were selected. However, parents claimed that the admission of selected students in the first round is yet to be completed.
According to officials, the forms were submitted till February 28, but 1,063 applications were rejected after verification. The final list of students was declared on March 12 after the lottery round.
Under the Right to Education (RTE) Act, all private primary schools should provide 25% reservation to children in the age group between 6 and 14 years, from economically weaker sections. This academic year, RTE admission of the first round was expected to be completed by April 4.
