JCTSL’s earning per km rose after 6 routes axed
Jaipur: After withdrawing six routes since April 1, the Jaipur City Transport Services Limited is witnessing a strange situation. While the average revenue yield of JCTSL has decreased, earning per kilometre increased. “This means the load factor of each bus has increased. This is because 100 out 300 buses in our fleet had gone off the roads and a section of passengers of these 100 buses are boarding the rest 200 buses in service,” Ajitabh Sharma, CMD JCTSL, told TOI. According to JCTSL figure, average revenue of the corporation before April 1 used to be Rs 28 lakh per day, while since April 1, the revenue yield is around Rs 22 lakh a day. Earnings per kilometre have increase from Rs 38.97 per km before April 1 to around Rs 44.57 per km from April 1. The passenger count has dropped to 1.12 lakh a day from 1.34 lakh per day. tnn
