Kota: Urban development and housing (UDH) minister and Kota North MLA Shanti Dhariwal on Friday rode pillion with a party worker to a physically challenged man’s house after he heard of his troubles in getting Aadhaar card and pension benefits and directed authorities to speed up the process.
Dhariwal on Friday reached Valmiki Basti under ward 45 of Kota North Municipal Corporation for a march under ‘Haath Se Haath Jodo Abhiyaan’ to cater and assess benefits of state government’s welfare schemes.
When Dhariwal was briefed about the troubles of a 35-year old physically challenged man identified as Arjun in getting Aadhaar card and pension, he rode pillion of one of his party worker’s bike to reach his house. Arjun is the only son of his widowed mother Sagarbai, who amid existing poverty, works as domestic help to earn livelihood.
On knowing that Arjun failed to get Aadhaar card due to dull fingerprint impression and pension benefits, Dhariwal called up the authorities concerned and directed him to visit to Arjun’s house and to issue him the card.
Dhariwal wore a mask throughout his march under ‘Haath Se Haath Jodo Abhyan’ in the area. Large number of men and women greeted the minister with garlands.
