Morocco looks eager to exploit the achievement and reputation that the Atlas Lions attained during the Qatar World Cup 2022 to realize Morocco’s motivated tourism objectives.
The Moroccan Tourism Ministry’s plan looks forward to draw 17.5 million tourists in three years and position Morocco among the topmost 10 tourist places internationally by 2026.
Taking into account the constructive energy that Morocco has been relishing due to the presentation of its home team in Qatar, the High Commission for Planning (HCP) estimates that the tourism segment will see a 51.3% progress in the first quarter of this year.
HCP also presumes the quantity of tourist influxes and overnight stays to multiple during the same time and the travel earnings to augment.
While presenting the tourism plan 2023-2026 for Morocco on Tuesday, Adel El Fakir, the Director-General of Morocco’s National Tourism Office (ONMT), emphasized the country’s eagerness to take advantage of the Atlas Lions’ feat to encourage Morocco as a tourist destination.
El Fakir stated that Morocco’s excellent performance in Qatar made an encouraging effect on tourism movement in Morocco.
