Rajasthan Royals (RR) leapfrogged Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the top of the Indian Premier League (IPL) standings following their convincing 57-run win over Delhi Capitals (DC) in Guwahati on Saturday.

The other big gainer on Saturday was the Chennai Super Kings, who hammered Mumbai Indians by seven wickets with 11 deliveries to spare at the Wankhede Stadium in the second match of the double-header.
DC, meanwhile, are second from bottom having suffered their third consecutive defeat in the league this season. They’re only better off than Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), also winless, who have a significantly inferior net run rate due to their 72 run defeat vs RR and by 5 wickets vs LSG.
MI, meanwhile, sit one spot above DC despite having failed to defend a target for a second game in a row as their NRR is slightly better than that of Delhi and Hyderabad.
Gujarat Titans (GT) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) are the only teams to have a hundred per cent start to the 16th season that got underway on 31 March and occupy the third and fifth spots respectively.
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have all won a game each from two matches played and both have two points.

There was a bit of shuffling around for the Orange Cap in the double-header on Saturday; DC skipper David Warner (158) had snatched it from RR’s Jos Buttler (152) during their match in Guwahati in the first of the double-header on 8 April. CSK opener Ruturaj Gaikwad (189) would then gain possession of the coveted cap the very same day with an unbeaten 40 against MI.
Rajasthan Royals spinner Yuzvendra Chahal took three wickets against Delhi Capitals to go level with Lucknow Super Giants pacer Mark Wood on 8 wickets. Fellow LSG player Ravi Bishnoi is third with six wickets.
